Jon Bridges is a freelance writer, sometime TV presenter and fulltime TV producer who currently makes the TV3 comedy show 7 Days. Jon comes from Palmerston North and it was his desperate need to find something interesting to do there as a teenager that led to an interest first in escapist writing, then to actually escaping the Knowledge City, which he now regards with an excess of nostalgic tenderness. Jon’s first love is cycling and he constantly struggles, when writing his far-fetched humorous columns, to avoid writing each and every one of them about some aspect of bicycle culture. He’s sure that one day he will be made Minister of Bikes. Jon is married to Gemma and lives in Balmoral, the Palmerston North of Auckland. Uncomfortable writing in the third person, Jon has kept this biography short.
