No The Daily this month – 1) because I am in Germany and 2) because I don’t think there’ll be that much written about Alison Moore’s first novel, The Lighthouse, Man Booker Prize shortlisting or no Man Booker Prize shortlisting. (Incidentally, the fact the book involves a character travelling to Germany is entirely coincidental, although I’m happy to take credit and claim it’s all part of our Frankfurt Book Fair coverage.)
Also – again partly because I am in Germany – this month’s bookseller discussion will be via Facebook and our “real-life” book club discussion will be a podcast. Feel free to hum Diana Ross’s “Upside down you’re turning me” quietly to yourselves.
It’s only a month. You’ll survive. And who knows, we may all prefer it this way.
One thing at least remains the same: here’s your Spoiler Zone and here’s your No-Spoiler Zone.
Feel free to avail yourselves.
And actually more than one thing remains the same, as Book Club co-host Megan Dunn will also be reading the book with you, filing her weekly report each Friday (starting next week).
Do make sure she doesn’t steal a march on you.
