The phone rang late on Saturday afternoon. You’d know the voice and that media-training-resistant “Eeehhh” anywhere: “It’s Don Brash here.” He has no idea who he’s calling. He didn’t catch the name in the message, but he’s ringing back anyway, bless him. Did he get my email? He may have, he says. There are about 150 piled up waiting for his attention.
