Here’s a thought for the school holidays – why not sit down with your kids at the computer and have a cosy chat with them about how their school is performing in the new National Standards Yes, we are being facetious. We realise most parents with youngish children will be more concerned over the next fortnight with keeping them entertained and getting them used to daylight saving than using the opportunity to discuss their literacy and numeracy levels.
