Thanks in no small measure to some deft political management, the reaction so far to the unveiling of the plans for Christchurch’s CBD has mostly been positive. Some are even talking about it becoming the most liveable city in Australasia. Given that Auckland is promoting its own plans to become the most liveable city in the world (it has already reached the No 3 spot, according to one reputable survey), such competition is welcome.
