The evacuation of Dunkirk showed the world it’s not just how you behave in victory that’s important, but how resilient you are when on an obvious hiding to nothing. In a small but telling way, the New Zealand team’s outing at the London 2012 Olympics has shown that, notwithstanding our great domestic challenges and divisions, this country’s psyche is in healthy and resilient shape.
