Hi everyone – sorry it’s been a while since my last blog, I’ve been sailing around a bit down here on His Majesty’s Bark Endeavour. Thanks for all the suggestions – “go west”, “go east” – I *had* actually thought of those ;) No great southern continent so far, but just mapped an interesting land. I’ve posted the map here: newzealandmap1.jpg – let me know what you think. Jimmy C.

Haha. It’s too small! Throw it back!

I’m no cartographer, but there’s no way that peninsula at the bottom is actually a peninsula – mos def an island like Banks’s Island. How many drams of ship’s whatever had you guys been yo-ho-ho-ing when you drew that?

I loved your early maps dude – Newfoundland and that, really nice. This one, it’s like you just cruised around the outside. I don’t want to be a hater but what’s in the middle? Just drawing a whole lot of hills isn’t proper exploring. Phoning it in.

Great map! Love the coastlines especially. Can’t see any markings for good motels, hotels or bed’n’breakfasts. Also can you recommend a good beach spot? Went to Fiji last year and loved the snorkelling.

Hey, as a captain, can you really marry people on your ship? Or is that like an urban legend?
………………………………………………………………………………….

What’s with the gibberish dude? “T’Avai Poenammoo”? “Eahei No Mauwe”? wtf?
………………………………………………………………………………….

Cook’s Strait? Mount Cook? Arrogant much?

Got to agree with the above poster. Let me guess: you’ve got guys on that boat called Banks, Palliser, Nick, Egmont, Hawke, Plenty, Poverty, South and North? Typical explorer machismo.

Yes! Go England! Oi Oi Oi! British Dominion 4 Eva!

Like we need another couple of huge islands that take six months to get to. I’m not sure why I’m supposed to care. If you want to explore something, why not have a go at Wales – that place freaks me out!

JC – Map looks good, but heard the ship isn’t doing too well after a bit of an *incident* in NSW. Could say your Bark is currently worse than your Bight!

Any sweet natives down there? Why not post a couple of jpegs of those babes in the grass outfits? Just sayin.

Kia ora bro, think I saw you go past! Was that you in the big waka with the forest on it? Didn’t know if you guys were people or not. Looked pale – lol. Nice waka, real nice waka. Come back any time you like – our place is your place. Ciao.

Nice map. You probably get this all the time, but can you name something after my girlfriend? She’d totally love it. Her name is Rachel Huntly. Mt Rachel or Rachel Bay? – something nice.

Africa gave us diamonds, India spice, the Americas gold and tobacco, coffee and chocolate, I can’t wait to see what fantastic unknown wonders and treasures you bring back from this marvellous new land!

Bags the North Island!
………………………………………………………………………………….
I don’t normally write in these comments but what a redneck! It isn’t called the “North Island” and you can’t bags it. Rtrd.

Nice “map” dude. You must have almost run out of green coloured pencil! Glad I’m paying my tax for you to do that. Hope you guys found some nice feathers and leaves too.

Is this place any better than the old Zealand? Took the family to Holland last Christmas and boy did that place suck. If NZ is really flat, has no good shops and is full of douchebags in stupid shoes who think they’re better than everyone else, then good name!

Looks like you’re having a bit of trouble with the longitude Captain – Poenammoo island’s a bit anorexic, eh? Sounds like you’re rockin the lunar distance method – Old Skool! ROTFL! No offence, but can I recommend a Garmin GPSMAP 7012. Seriously.

Must be cold at those latitudes, Captain! If you want a real nice holiday, I’d recommend Hawaii. Good weather, friendly, safe.
