BREAKING BAD HABITS Jon Johansson is wise to suspend his heavy smoking habit until he turns 65 – 14 years from now ( “Kicking the habit”, July 21). Public health officials rarely mention the fact that at and after the age of 65, the death rate for lifelong smokers is about the same as for people who have never smoked.
