GLOBAL WARNING New Zealand’s response to climate change is ineffectual (“Sea change”, September 22). Setting aside the recalcitrance and backsliding of the Government (and that is to set aside a lot), we still have other big impediments to an effective response. The first is statistical. There is an unaccountable misreading of data on our greenhouse gas emissions. We read gross emissions, and plan accordingly. We should be reading net emissions.
