Eight of the men were working in the farthest corner of the mine. Glenn Cruse, Chris Duggan, Daniel Herk, Richard Holling, Brendon Palmer, Stu Mudge, Willie Joynson and Pete Rodger were building a development roadway to the northwest. Their crewmate Daniel Rockhouse had gone off down the mine to get some gravel. Conrad Adams was last seen near Spaghetti Junction, where the mine’s roadways and electrical and other services converged.
