Weren’t we meant to be living in a post-ironic age by now? Ironically, it turns out to be television satire we’re living without. Aotearoa: 100% satire free. This is the country that, in 2007, banned the use of footage from Parliament for the purposes of mocking. Both ironically and satirically, news of that ban inspired The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart to make fun of New Zealand politicians on our behalf, which was kind.
