I spend part of every Friday evening in agony. Not physical, but emotional. And it’s not because I’ve consumed too many cocktails at a local bar, though the chance would be a fine thing. No, my early Friday nights are spent taking my younger daughter and her friend to a swimming club where at some point I am wincing and covering my eyes in anticipation of that awful moment just before the kids’ heads smack together while they’re doing backstroke.
