The anti-tobacco group Action on Smoking and Health has called on the Government to make lollies that look like cigarettes illegal. Ash director Ben Youdan was quoted recently as saying he had thought such products already were banned, but had now found that they were not. Presumably, that’s because they are not made of tobacco but of sugar. A tobacco control researcher was quoted as saying a large online survey in the US found people who had “used” candy cigarettes in the past were more likely than non-users to be past or current smokers.
