The love of Hounds is calling
1. TV One’s series of New Zealand dramas continued on Sunday night with the excellent (and controversial) Siege, a dramatisation of the Napier, well, siege, in 2009.
Watch it here. And follow that with Siege: the interviews, which features, well, interviews with the police officers involved.
thanks, @AnnaESmart
2. I confess I watched the first episode of Hounds and it did nothing for me. But whether it’s improved, or I’m just wrong, or a bit of both, the NZ sitcom, of which the third episode screened last Friday night, is getting some rave reviews.
3. Video coverage of sessions from the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival is beginning to appear on Vimeo. They’re collected here. One highlight was (is) Sean Plunket’s hour with Stella Rimington:
4. You might think Patrick Gower would be keeping his head down, anxious not to prat-fall and risk his ascension to TV3 political editor later this year. Not a bit of it. Nope, Paddy is instead busy weaving Gone With the Wind and the grunts of Edwin Starr into his political review of the week on Firstline.
5. The bFM Extended Play series exploring Flying Nun EPs this week focused on the Double Happys’ Cut It Out. Includes interviews with Shayne Carter and John Collie. Moving.
