Like everyone else, I hold my breath when the #eqnz tweets start rolling in from Christchurch (or anywhere, but especially Christchurch).
Once it’s clear that nothing horrible has happened, there’s sport in watching the locals, who have become reluctant experts in shaky sensations, estimate where the quake sits on the Richter scale.
There can also be a strange cadence about the Twitter stream.
