UK teen crime writer Anne Cassidy’s new series, The Murder Notebooks, features step-siblings Rose and Joshua, separated since their parents didn’t return from a meal out fi ve years ago. In DEAD TIME (Bloomsbury, $19.99), Rose witnesses the murder of a boy who’s been bullying her at school. Then Joshua, a university undergraduate, appears in the mansion where she lives with her uppercrust grandmother.
