The shadows between the karanga, theatre and dance carry an urgent message – we are on the brink of losing traditional worlds and the beautiful and fragile. Ten dancers from the MAU company presented Birds with Skymirrors In a hypnotic, time-stretching performance at the New Zealand International Arts Festival. Breathtaking lighting design by Helen Todd brought its grave world to life, both ushering in and concealing performers.
