Inspired by American singer Todd Snider’s new group Hard Working Americans, the British economist and blogger Hopi Sen has compiled a list of the top 10 political cliches that should be band names. Because, as everyone knows, “there aren’t enough political cliches that have become band names”.

Sen’s suggestions include: Squeezed Middle, Tough Choices, The Third Way (“achingly cool nouvelle vague”), Innovation Nation, Up And Down The Country, and Metropolitan Liberal Elite.

I have three to add: The International Community, Raft of Changes, and, for New Zealand especially, The Green Taliban (Live on Planet Key).
