Kevin Rowland is a glorious dichotomy of a man, comprised of equal measures of hand-wringing self-doubt and supreme overconfidence, so the very idea of a new album from him in 2012 is a strange, alluring prospect. Now shorn of the Midnight Runners and going simply as Dexys, the band have made no change at the top, with Rowland still the gaffer, and the possibility of mass band sackings, or a bizarre new wardrobe and matching manifesto, never too far away.
