Silence of Love film review

Silence of Love

SILENCE OF LOVE
Unashamedly feel-good, this Italian-French collaboration is a thoroughly warm-hearted voyage around love, death, parenthood and art. From I’ve Loved You So Long’s Philippe Claudel, and filmed in beautiful Strasbourg. 4.5/5

THIS IS 40
Judd Apatow’s vision of the frustrating forties is intermittently funny, but lacks heart, plot and his improvisatory voice. 2.5/5

HITCHCOCK
Hollywood in the 50s and the making of Psycho provide stylish visual ambience to the personal and professional partnership of Alfred and Alma. Good, but not great. 3/5

ANNA KARENINA

A handsome staging that flows between theatre and film and lends visual energy to the heaving emotions within, but the artifice overwhelms the story. 3/5
