Nina Raine has just heard that her play Tribes, which is about to have its New Zealand premiere, has won a coveted New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award. “It’s amazing,” she says, the day the news is announced. “It’s been nominated for lots of awards, and I get excited about every one. But this time I am really excited.” She hasn’t a lot of leisure to absorb the news.
