Crossword 801 solution

No little commentary this week. I’m away on holiday, sending in this post from my laptop, and being every bit as lazy as I can, which is quite a lot.

I will just note a slip in the clue for 23 down, which should have read “… sound as a bell”. I hope and assume that this didn’t cause unnecessary difficulty.
