Sharon Stone will be back on the big screen in a high-profile role in 2013. She’s one of the prestige cast John Turturro has lined up for his comedy caper Fading Gigolo. Turturro, who wrote and directed the film, also stars in it alongside Stone, Woody Allen, Sofia Vergara, Liev Schreiber and Vanessa Paradis. Fans of Stone and Vergara are excited that the two actresses recently shot a steamy love scene in New York. The movie is about a man (Turturro) who decides to become a professional Don Juan as a way of making money to help his cash-strapped friend Murray (Allen), whom he takes on as his manager. Soon, the duo find themselves caught up in a tangled web of love and money.

Dane DeHaan, who has been building his portfolio with roles in True Blood, Lincoln and Devil’s Knot, has nabbed the part. He knows a thing or two about acquired superpowers, having made such an impression in the lead role in surprise hit Chronicle, about a group of teens who unexpectedly gain superpowers then slowly lose control over them.
- More than 110 feature-length films from 32 countries will screen at the forthcoming Sundance Film Festival. Nearly 100 will be premieres, including some interesting American dramas. Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, written and directed by short film-maker David Lowery, is the tale of an outlaw who escapes from prison and sets off across Texas to reunite with his wife and the daughter he has never met. The strong cast includes Rooney Mara, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster and Keith Carradine. Also attracting attention is Kill Your Darlings, about an unsolved murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs at Columbia University in 1944, providing the spark that led to the Beat revolution. The cast is intriguing, with Daniel Radcliffe playing Ginsberg, Jack Huston as Kerouac and Foster as Burroughs. DeHann appears, too, as do Michael C Hall, Elizabeth Olsen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, David Cross and Kyra Sedgwick.
Jane Austen gets another going over in Austenland, a romantic comedy starring Keri Russell, Bret McKenzie, Jane Seymour, JJ Feild and Jennifer Coolidge. It’s about a young woman obsessed with Colin Firth’s Mr Darcy who finds her fantasies coming true on a trip to an English resort.
