SATURDAY MAY 26 New Tricks (Prime, 7.30pm). It’s certainly a trick that this crime-caper series can be nostalgic and set in the present. Like a costume drama without the costumes. It’s the way that Dennis Waterman, Alun Armstrong, Amanda Redman and James Bolam deliver their lines as if they were auditioning for Grumpy Old Men, and the fact that there is never going to be a thrilling chase scene.
