Tomatoes are so tasty and versatile, whether on toast for breakfast, in a salad for lunch or in pasta sauce for dinner. And so, unsurprisingly, tomatoes are popular – New Zealanders spent more money on tomatoes in 2010 than on any other vegetable, knocking the humble potato into second place.
