From the start, big things were predicted of the 2010 vintage. After a dismal January, the weather settled in February, drought spread and the grapes basked in unusual warmth and dryness right through into the key harvest month of April. The outstanding wines now on the shelves reflect more than just that Indian summer. In 2010, the vines yielded an average of eight tonnes of grapes per hectare – the lowest cropping rate since 2005.
