Damien Barton-Sartorius spent two months in Hawke’s Bay recently, working the vintage at Te Mata Estate. A slim, handsome, unassuming young man, Barton-Sartorius adopted a low profile during his stay, but his family owns Château Léoville-Barton, one of the greatest vineyards in Bordeaux, estimated recently by Liv-ex (London International Vintners Exchange) to be worth around $250 million.
